Resident presents STEVIE

At 10 PM on Friday, August 21, the tone at Hubble Bubble North Miami Beach changes. STEVIE takes over for the Resident set, and the palette shifts to funky house, disco and deep house — warmer, looser, and considerably harder to sit still through than what came before it.

Disco is the through-line. Not the nostalgia version, but the working parts of it: live bass, string stabs, drums that push rather than pound, and vocals that carry an actual hook. Funky house takes that vocabulary and puts a modern floor under it. Deep house pulls the temperature back down between peaks so the set breathes. Played in sequence across a late Friday, it's the kind of music that turns a lounge into a room where people are dancing next to their table without ever having decided to.

Resident nights exist because a venue plays differently when the DJ knows the room.
